We asked one half of the successful leadership team of Now Leasing NT to reflect on her career in Real Estate
Q. What are you most proud of in your career?
Starting an agency from scratch. After having set up and built other agencies, after 18 years in the industry, I decided to take the next step of opening my own agency and setting things up the way I had always wanted with smaller portfolios. I have long held the belief that smaller portfolios allow for a personalised and proactive service.
Q. What have you seen that has been a positive change to your industry?
There has been a shift with more agency owners who have been successful Property Managers, that hold the singular focus on managing investment properties. An operator having performed at a high level as a Property Manager is more invested in implementing procedures and providing tools that give their team an elevated platform to provide good service, and reduce the burn out factor which is so high for Property Managers.
Q. What do you want Property Management to look like in 5 years’ time?
My number one wish is to have ONE program that allows the industry do everything it needs. Having it all under one umbrella instead of 6 or 7 different programs that require training, funding and constant upgrades would be bliss.
